Happy New Year family and friends. We've noticed that Christmas time is kind of hard on bloggers. We did not do a very good job of keeping people up to date on our goings on. But we're here now!
We enjoyed a holiday vacation in Oregon with Alex's family. It was the first time for many family members to see Jackson. He did fantastic on the airplane and in the airports. Cruised right along with us. Most notably about our trip, all of our luggage made it to the Roanoke airport the same day we did! (Our luggage has been delayed all the other times we have flown into Roanoke and we have had to file missing luggage claims. Our stuff has always made its way home, just after us).
We also got to see Jonathan's family for a day when we came back to Roanoke. They spent the week visiting Jonathan's brother and family. The same day they left, the Franklins rolled into town. Melissa Franklin is a lifelong friend (preschool/high school/college) and she and her husband and their boys live about five hours away. They stayed for a few days and it was so fun to have them here. We tried to go on a hike that Jonathan and I did earlier in the spring. However, I forgot to remember that it was colder down there than it was in Roanoke. It was SO cold! We weren't bundled up well enough and only did part of the hike. But we had some delicious hot chocolate afterwards and isn't that what it's all about anyways?
So now we're back to the "normal". We have lots to be excited about. Alex got some new books from the library as well as a new BBC TV series called "Monarch of the Glen." We are halfway done with season one. We recommend them for your viewing pleasure. Jon has lots of new music to play (on instruments and on his ipod through the new speakers from Mom). Alex also has several projects to to work on. Jackson has his delicious fists and new cute 3-6 month clothes to dazzle us in.
Oregon is so fun!
