Camping-Part 1

So my goal for this summer is to go camping once a month. That's my big ambition for the summer. No book lists, project lists, nah. Just camping. Our first time this summer was about a month ago. We are lucky in that there are three state parks with sandy beaches/hiking/canoeing an hour's drive from us.

Our first trip was a quick one. I picked Jonathan up from work and we spent one night there. The next day we did a family hike in the morning and then some friends (and family) came down and joined us for swimming on the beach. The kids did pretty well. Jackson had a hard time going down to bed (expected). They both slept through the drunken rage that one of our neighbors two sites over had at one am. They also slept through the park police car coming and it's flashing blue lights lighting up our tent.

All in all, it was a fine trip, but our next campout was better. Look for Camping-Part 2.

So wish we could come camping with you! There's just not really anywhere close by to go here. And it's so hot during the day I'm not sure the ones a little farther would be any fun anyway! I'm so sad since we finally have all our great camping stuff together in one place. Enjoy some s'more's for us. Oh and a hike too. When we moved here Callan said, "There's no woods? Where do you go hiking!?"

Oh my, don't they look comfortable and very pleased with the situation. How sweet.
